24 plus inches of wavy, strawberry blonde hair

24+inches of hair I've been growing for about ten years now. I'm female, non-smoker, and I work nights, so my hair spends most of its time in a top knot and rarely sees the sun. Very few split ends, since I don't leave it loose. Never permed or color treated. Rarely blown dry (about 2x per year) I wash it 2 to 3 times per week and only brush it once per washing. After that, I only finger comb. Pics shown are three days post washing. It's naturally wavy, and I'm frequently stopped by complete strangers who just want to comment on my hair. (Honestly, it creeps me out a little, but I try to be gracious.) I promised myself a makeover for the new year and have spent the last seven months whipping my body into shape. I'm 35 years old, and not only does my hair get in the way when I'm working out, but I want to experiment with color, and there's no way I can afford to color it at this length. Besides, I figure it's about due to start coming in gray, so I might as well take it off while the taking's still good.
I measure it to almost 27 inches from the nape of my neck, but I can't say how accurate that was, since I measure it myself. It's definitely 24 good inches, though. My family is bugging me to donate it to Locks of Love, and I feel like a stooge for trying to sell it instead, but I really could use the money. I've decided I'll leave the ad up til the end of November and take the highest bid. If none of the bids will benefit me, then I'll donate it instead. Hubby wants a PS3 for Christmas. :) I am open to most possibilities. Just ask. I'm in the College Station, Texas area.
Also, I apologize for the pics. Hubby is worse with a camera than I am, so I had to take them myself.

Thank you, B C. I will not get a pixie or buzz cut. I am thinking a nice shag just below my ears, kinda Meg Ryan-esque. And I hope that cutting it will bring out some of the lowlights so I will not have to color.

Thanks for the heads up on Locks of Love. I have heard that from someone else from here as well. Now I do not feel as bad.

You should not feel guilty for not donating it. Locks of Love will likely just sell it anyways. Do some research on what happens to hair that is donated to Locks of Love and decide for yourself. Good Luck.

In the past I have cut it so the back is just about at ear lobe level. I would not buzz cut. If someone could convince me a pixie would not look ridiculous on me I would go that short. But it would take some convincing.
